Most birthday setups we do in Lahore are not in a hall. They are in a lounge, a bedroom corner, a lawn or a rooftop, put together after the guest of honour has left for work or school. Here is how to plan one properly, and what it actually costs.

Start with one decision: where the photos will be taken

Every setup has one wall that ends up in every photograph. Pick it first, then build around it. In most Lahore homes that is:

the wall behind the sofa in the lounge (best light in the evening),
the TV wall, once the TV is switched off,
a lawn wall or a boundary wall, for daytime parties,
the rooftop railing, for a small evening gathering.

Once that wall is chosen, everything else - cake table, gift table, seating - arranges itself around it. If you skip this step you usually end up with balloons spread thin across the whole room and nothing that photographs well.

The three setups people actually book

Balloon backdrop and cake table. A garland or arch on the chosen wall, a cake table under it, name or age in foil letters. This is the most common birthday setup and the one that photographs best for the money.

Ceiling fill. Helium or air balloons across the ceiling with ribbons hanging down. Good for a surprise when someone walks in, and good in rooms where no wall is free.

Full theme setup. A themed backdrop, matching props, table styling and a photo corner - unicorn, Spider-Man, jungle safari, Frozen, space, and around a hundred more. Browse them at Birthday Themes; the supplies for many of them can also be bought separately at Birthday Decorations.

What it costs

Our published ranges, so you can plan before you call:

From Rs 8,500 - the Birthday Surprise at Home package: about 100 ceiling balloons, a foil letter banner and cake table styling. See it at Packages.
Rs 15,000 - 60,000 - a full birthday setup with a backdrop, balloon garland and cake table. The spread depends on the size of the wall, the number of balloons and whether the theme needs printed or custom pieces.

How much time to give it

Standard setups: two to three days' notice is usually enough.
Custom printed items (name balloons, printed backdrops, logo pieces): about a week.
Peak dates - Eid week, wedding season, 14th August, exam-result season for school parties - book earlier; those weekends fill first.

A setup at home normally takes our team one to two hours. For a surprise, we usually arrive while the person is out and finish before they are back; tell us the timing and we plan around it.

A short checklist

Pick the photo wall.
Pick two colours and one metallic (for example blue and white with silver, or pink and blush with rose gold). Two colours photograph better than five.
Decide the age or name piece - foil numbers, a cursive banner, or a printed backdrop.
Clear the wall and the floor in front of it before the team arrives.
Keep the cake table away from direct fan or AC airflow.
Ask for the balloons to be delivered on the day, not a day early - latex balloons deflate faster in Lahore's heat.

Buying it yourself vs having it set up

Buying it yourself works well for a small setup: a letter banner, a pack of confetti balloons, a few foil shapes. Everything is in stock and delivered across Lahore.

A setup team is worth it when the wall is large, when you need a garland or arch, when the ceiling is involved, or when it has to be done quietly while someone is out of the house. The difference is not just labour - garlands and arches need a frame, sizing and about an hour of shaping that is genuinely awkward to do alone.
